Armbite Embraces “Defeat” on Debut Album 'dawg rock vol. 1'

Listen

Armbite's debut album dawg rock vol. 1 is a raw and cathartic collection of songs written between 2022 and 2024. The record captures the band’s recurring theme of “defeat” – failed relationships, false starts, and everyday stumbles – but always with an undercurrent of fun and reckless energy.

The album’s chaotic path mirrors its spirit. What began as a plan to record in early 2025 was upended by a studio flood, forcing the band to piece the record together across Hidden Fortress, basements, apartments, and even a piano smuggled into an old college. Finished with the help of producer Bridget and mixed/mastered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Jeff Rosenstock), dawg rock vol. 1 embodies Armbite’s scrappy, unfiltered approach.

From explosive singles like “lucky penny” to vulnerable deep cuts, the album plants Armbite firmly in the underground rock landscape – loud, unpolished, and unapologetically alive.
