Our Love Carries Us Through Winter; tenmonthsummer Is Back
Chicago lakeshore emo band tenmonthsummer has returned with their first new music in nearly two years: “ tomar hashi, tomar naam (তোমার হাসী, তোমার নাম).” Translated from Bengali as “your laugh, your name,” the single is a frenetic, full-hearted answer to anyone wondering if the wait was worth it.
Blending the lyric confessionalism of emo and grunge with sweeping shoegaze textures, the track surges forward on relentless riffs, driving rhythms, and drums that hit with real weight – all anchored by aching, open-throated vocals. It’s urgent and loud, but still intimate at its core.
“This song should feel like spring,” says vocalist Nish Ahmed. “It’s a love song about surviving winter with someone – but it’s also about how names, language, and memory keep us connected. They keep us alive. They keep us remembered.”
After nearly two years away, tenmonthsummer are back – louder, sharper, and still rooted in the yearning that defines them.
