Sentiments Release 'If This Is What You Want'; A Raw Document of Change, Loss, and Letting Go

Sentiments have just released their new full-length If this is what you want recorded. The album is a deeply personal, slow-burning collection of songs built around the quiet resignation of the phrase: “if this is what you want” – whether said to a partner, a friend, a family member, or yourself.

Most of the songs started as stripped-down acoustic sketches or lyrical loops, before being pulled apart, reassembled, and pushed through the full-band lens until they became something heavier, sharper, and more sincere. “We write the songs we want to hear,” the band says, “and in the process, we usually have to kill our darlings to make them honest.”

If this is what you want sits in the emotional liminal space between relationships ending and memories solidifying – tracing moments from fractured connection to the questions we ask when someone’s gone. What gets kept? What gets left behind? What does it all say about who we were?

It’s a record that asks a lot, but never flinches – one that invites listeners to live in the uncertainty alongside the band and maybe even say the line themselves: “If this is what you want, recoil when it's not enough.”

The album is out now on all streaming platforms, with CDs available on our here.
