Strawberry Blonde Embrace Nostalgia on “Pontiac”

Strawberry Blonde have released their new single “Pontiac,” out now and offering another look at their forthcoming debut album, No Past To Live In, arriving October 16.

Formed at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, Strawberry Blonde blend emo, shoegaze, indie rock, and pop into a sound Clash Magazine described as matching “the helter-skelter intricacy of American Football’s emo-rooted songwriting to the glitz of The 1975.”

No Past To Live In sees the band reconnecting with the emo-leaning songwriting and distorted guitars of their earlier work while building on the experimentation of 2023’s Somebody Hold Me. Moving between shoegaze, dreamy pop, and stripped-back moments, the album is Strawberry Blonde’s most diverse and cohesive release to date.
