Strawberry Blonde Make Peace With the Past on ‘No Past To Live In’

Strawberry Blonde have released their debut album, No Past To Live In, out now. The record finds the band returning to the emo-leaning songwriting, distorted guitars, and shoegaze influences of their earlier work while continuing to explore dreamy pop and more experimental territory.

Following the sonic departure of 2023’s Somebody Hold Me EP, No Past To Live In feels both like a return to form and a step forward. Built from home demos and collaborative studio sessions, the album moves between propulsive tracks like “Enemy,” dreamy keyboard-driven moments, and stripped-back acoustic songwriting.

The album also marks a transitional chapter for Strawberry Blonde, with Liam Connors taking on a larger songwriting and production role and co-founder Sam Barna contributing across the record before amicably departing the band following its completion.

Ten years after Strawberry Blonde first formed, No Past To Live In captures a band looking back at what made them who they are while figuring out what comes next.
