Can you not? – “Thanks, homie!”
Can You Not? returns with their new single “Thanks, homie!” – which is out now. Blending punchy, basement-recorded punk with sharp self-awareness, the track dives into the cycle of trying to do better while repeatedly falling back into the same habits. Through lyrics that balance humor and honesty, the song reflects on using jokes and sarcasm to deflect from problems that are often self-inflicted.
“Thanks, homie!” captures the messy middle ground between growth and self-sabotage – knowing exactly what you’re doing wrong but doing it anyway.
The single was tracked and produced in a basement session with longtime collaborator Tyler Austin and mixed by Brian Swindle, whose work has become a key part of shaping the Can You Not? sound. With raw guitars and confessional lyrics, “Thanks, homie!” continues the project’s DIY spirit while delivering a cathartic look at bad habits, self-awareness, and the friends who stick around through it all.
