gas station. – “Scattered Sand on Pavement”
gas station. – a cerebral and emotionally charged math-rock outfit from Buffalo, NY – have just released their new single, “Scattered Sand On Pavement.” The track introduces the band’s signature blend of jagged instrumentation, surreal detail, and raw introspection.
Equal parts tense and tender, the song captures the disorientation of self-reflection in a world that feels just slightly off. Swirling guitars, fractured rhythms, and buried vocals create a sonic landscape that feels overheated and unsteady – like trying to breathe through glue.
While rooted in the technical edge of math rock, gas station. leans heavily into emotional storytelling, pairing abstract textures with an almost uncomfortable intimacy. The result is a sound that’s messy, vulnerable, and completely their own.
“Scattered Sand On Pavement” is the first glimpse into their new album A Collection Of Songs For Saying Goodbye – due out on 8/29.
