tenmonthsummer – “broken fist in a boxing glove”

tenmonthsummer’s new single “broken fist in a boxing glove” is out now via We’re Trying Records – a bruised, anthemic meditation on endurance and collective survival.

Equal parts admission, litany, and plea, the track wrestles with what it means to keep pushing back when every swing takes something out of you, turning exhaustion into resolve rather than surrender.

Opening with a slow-burning riff before erupting into a triumphant swell, the song carries the weight of its central refrain: “it’s getting harder to swing.” Not a line of defeat, but one of recognition – every pushback leaves its mark, but the fight continues.

“We have written about love in the romantic sense,” says lyricist and vocalist Nish Ahmed, “but this one is about the love of community. How we, through war and devastation, still live, despite. How we, together as friends, strangers, and neighbors, are the only ones that will save one another.”

tenmonthsummer channel personal strain into something communal and urgent here – bruised, defiant, and ultimately resilient.
