Danceable Dread for the Doomscroll Era; Scarlet Street Releases “WARNING SOUNDS”

Listen

Scarlet Street’s new single “WARNING SOUNDS” feels like dancing under flashing red lights – you know something’s wrong, but the bass is too good to stop. It’s indie rock wrapped in a sugar coating, driven by a looping bassline and crisp drums that move like a party on autopilot. But listen closer, and you’ll hear the cracks: digital burnout, financial panic, and the eerie calm of a world smiling as it unravels.

The lyrics spiral into snapshots of everyday collapse – “Just checking bank accounts / and moving funds from ‘In’ to ‘Out’ to get me through the last of my sanity” – and a chorus that’s both a question and a confession: “Breaking down / What the hell am I doing anymore? / Warning sounds…”

Produced by Gary Cioni at Sound Acres Studio, “WARNING SOUNDS” is Scarlet Street at their most unsettlingly danceable, disguising despair in a bright, irresistible pulse. In an age when it’s easier to scroll than to stop, the band offers a track that stares into the anxiety and keeps moving.
