Guest Room Status wrestles with hesitation on new single “Stall At The Start”

Indie/emo four-piece Guest Room Status just dropped their new single “Stall At The Start,” a restless anthem about hesitation, self-doubt, and the relief of breaking through.

Frantic guitars, a stop-and-start rhythm section, and soaring vocals mirror the feeling of wanting to move forward but feeling stuck in place. Lyrically, it’s raw and self-reflective – “I have the time, what am I waiting for? / Longing to write, failing to send” – capturing the paralysis that comes before taking a leap.

Formed on the fringes of journalism school, GRS blend math-rock intricacy, pop-punk energy, and midwest emo rawness into emotionally charged, hook-filled songs that hit just as hard in headphones as they do live.
