When the Light Finally Hits: better living. Releases New Single
better living. – a staple of Brooklyn’s DIY circuit – return with their new single “the light".
Born out of a post-show rethink that turned into an impromptu jam, “the light” was the first song written for the band’s upcoming record and quickly became its natural starting point. The original phone demo from that day remains strikingly close to the final version, preserving the track’s raw, immediate energy.
Driving and urgent, the song pairs that spontaneity with a focused emotional core. Lyrically, it centers on how insecurity and trauma can distort perception – blinding you from seeing what’s right in front of you, or “the light.”
Confidentially, "the light" is the first single from better living.’s sophomore album, fix your heart. The album expands the band's blend of punk into a cathartic exploration of gender identity and fractured friendships, shaped in the close-quarters intensity of New York’s underground.
