Your Lucky Penny Flipped Me Off; Armbite Releases New Single

Philly’s Armbite just signed with We're Trying Records, and they’re kicking things off with their first single “lucky penny” today, followed by debut album dawg rock vol. 1 on October 10.

“lucky penny” started life as a GarageBand demo in 2022 – before Armbite even existed – and has grown into a jagged, restless track about burnout, bad luck, and a coin that literally flips you off. It’s raw, loud, and full of that mix of irony and exhaustion that defines the band’s sound.

Their upcoming record dawg rock vol. 1 stitches together songs from the band’s first year and change, shaped by setbacks (including a flooded studio on Christmas Day) and finished across basements, apartments, and even an impromptu piano session in an old college building.

Producer Bridget Filiatrault helped steer the chaos, and the final mix came courtesy of Jack Shirley, whose touch brings the whole thing into focus.
