Celebration Guns – ‘What Keeps Us Coming Back’
Arizona indie-emo quartet Celebration Guns return with What Keeps Us Coming Back, a deeply personal album about relationships, regret, change, and the things we struggle to leave behind.
Across the record, the band explores restlessness, emotional disconnection, shifting belief systems, and the difficult process of recognizing your own role in what went wrong. At its center is a three-song “Divorce Trilogy” – “Magpies in Disguise,” “Regrets, Regurgitated,” and “Johl Rides Again” – tracing a relationship from its hopeful beginnings through collapse and eventual acceptance.
Musically, What Keeps Us Coming Back expands Celebration Guns’ blend of emo, indie rock, math rock, and alternative with unexpected instrumentation and the bright guitars, restless rhythms, and sincerity that have defined the band since 2013.
Ultimately, What Keeps Us Coming Back is about looking back, letting go, and understanding why some things never quite stop pulling us in.
